Since graduating, I have done my best to serve Spelman – my beloved alma mater that gave me so much. Serving as President-Elect of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College (NAASC) would be my next step in continuing the amazing legacy Sophia B. Packard, Harriet E. Giles, and 11 former slave women established on April 11, 1881, to change the world.

 

The platform I developed is called Spelman Synergy. What does that mean for NAASC? It means all facets of Spelman - The College, The Association, and individual alumnae combining our resources and efforts to our mutual advantage. To achieve this, we must incorporate the following into our NAASC engagement:

 

Connection – What connections can we amplify to encourage Spelman sisters to join and maintain membership? 

 

Collaboration – How can we better work with the College, other HBCU alums, and each other?

 

Communication – How do we engage our membership in significant ways that are constant and consistent?

 

As a career communications and PR professional, I hope to use my skillsets to help implement a plan that will result in greater Connection, Collaboration, and Communication for our association and its members.
